'My friends are all dead'
In the courtyard of the tiny Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church at 22 Laboratoorium today, volunteers were measuring and cutting package protectors. At this location they are collecting donations of first aid kits, walkie-talkies, drones, night-vision equipment and mobile GPS units.
At the time of my visit, Estonia was providing clothing, free temporary housing and help in applying for refugee status. It was also extending a hand in finding kindergartens and other schools for Ukrainian families, and offering free tuition at the Estonian Academy of Arts, as well as free legal and psychological services.
